Voices from the Retreat
These are real words from first responders who have experienced our retreats firsthand.
“I attended the Montana Peer Support Network training during one of my darkest and most isolating periods of my career. This experience proved to be not only extremely beneficial, but also pivotal in helping me navigate that difficult chapter. The training helped me understand the very real chemical and emotional toll this job can take, and more importantly, it gave me tools to cope with it. I genuinely believe that without this training, I may not have remained in this profession. It didn’t just help me – it saved me and my career.”

“I had the privilege of attending the Montana Law Enforcement Officer Peer Support Network retreat in 2022, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, the retreat offered a welcoming and friendly environment that immediately put me at ease. The leaders within the support network were not only incredibly knowledgeable but also deeply relatable. It was clear that they genuinely understood the challenges law enforcement officers face, and their ability to create an open and non-judgmental space was invaluable.
This atmosphere of trust allowed me and my fellow attendees to feel comfortable enough to open up, share our experiences, and truly decompress. The retreat was perfectly balanced between structured, guided discussions and moments for individual reflection. Activities like fishing, hiking, and simply being in nature provided an excellent opportunity for introspection, while still feeling connected to others.
I left feeling rejuvenated and with a renewed sense of purpose, having gained valuable tools for managing stress and maintaining mental well-being. I can’t speak highly enough about the impact of this retreat and the support network it represents. It was a much-needed reset, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to participate. I highly recommend this retreat to any law enforcement officer looking for a supportive, understanding, and healing experience.”
